Neurodivergence In The 21st Century: How Technology Supports Children’s Potential
Around 30% to 40% of the U.S. population is considered “neurodivergent”—an umbrella term encompassing a spectrum of neurological conditions, such as ADHD, autism, dyspraxia, dyslexia and more, that deviate from typical cognitive, emotional and behavioral patterns. Despite the prevalence of neurodivergence, society is prone to stigmatize—fixating on the deficits rather than recognizing the richness of neurodiverse experiences and unique talents. By reframing attitudes toward neurodivergence around “uniqueness” rather than strengths and weaknesses, society can help its neurodivergent members embrace their differences and achieve optimal outcomes.
